What do you know about Ground Source Heat Pumps (GSHP)

Below are a few points to ponder when considering a Ground Source Heat Pump (GSHP) heating and cooling system.

Simplicity of Design & Operation - From the Ground Up

Unlike traditional furnaces or boilers that burn fuels for heat and require separate air conditioning and ventilating units, GSHP systems transfer heat from one place to another using a simple process to provide both warmth and cooling. GSHP systems tap the earth's inexhaustible supply of renewable thermal energy, underground or underwater, where temperatures remain fairly moderate at 35 - 45F, year-round.  It is the same technology that is in your refrigerator that has been around for decades.

Building Information Modeling - BIM

"Building Information Modeling (BIM) is a digital representation of physical and functional characteristics of a facility. A BIM is a shared knowledge resource for information about a facility forming a reliable basis for decisions during its life-cycle; defined as existing from earliest conception to demolition."

For the professionals involved in a project, BIM enables a virtual information model to be handed from the design team (architects, surveyors, civil, structural and building services engineers, etc.) to the main contractor and subcontractors and then on to the owner/operator; each professional adds discipline-specific data to the single shared model. This reduces information losses that traditionally occurred when a new team takes 'ownership' of the project, and provides more extensive information to owners of complex structures.
