TLJ Engineering Consultants Ltd. is a Canadian owned and operated company providing full mechanical and electrical engineering services since 1987. We specialize in building sanitary drainage, water distribution, storm drainage, gas distribution, heating, ventilation and air conditioning, electrical power distribution, lighting systems, fire alarm systems, emergency lighting systems, solar / PV energy systems, security access systems. We have extensive knowledge of the latest building and energy codes and standards to ensure compliance while keeping the mechanical and electrical design systems within budget.

TLJ Engineering Consultants provide comprehensive mechanical and electrical engineering and design services to residential and commercial building owners, tenants, property managers, architects, developers and private individuals. We also work very close with contractors on a design assist or design build bases. We pride ourselves as a dual discipline engineering firm to ensure accurate coordination and efficiency.
Mechanical Engineering and Design

CAN/ULC-S1001 Integrated Systems Testing
We provide Integrated Systems Testing services to comply with CAN/ULC-S1001 “Standard for Integrated Systems Testing of Fire Protection and Life Safety Systems”, in accordance with the National Building Code Alberta Edition. Our office coordinates all tasks, tests, procedures and site reviews needed while working with all Building Trades to ensure a smooth testing process. Submission of Integrated Systems plan, report and testing certificate in accordance with CAN/ULC-S1001.
Electrical Engineering and Design
TLJ Engineering Consultants possess deep technical expertise to provide extensive electrical engineering and design services. Our experienced and innovative design team works with the latest software to design full building electrical and lighting systems, delivering innovative and cost-effective solutions. On paper, we design and build systems. In practice, we solve problems.
CAN/ULC-S537 Verification of Fire Alarm Systems
Our office provides services to witness fire alarm verifications to comply with CAN/ULC-S537 “Standard for Verification of Fire Alarm Systems”, in accordance with the National Building Code Alberta Edition. We work with all Building Trades to ensure a smooth verification process. Submission of Fire Alarm Certificate of Verification Letter in accordance with CAN/ULC-S537.

KEVIN VIG P.L.(Eng.), P.Tech.(Eng.)
President
Kevin Vig joined TLJ Engineering Consultants Ltd. in 2000. He completed the Mechanical Engineering Technologies program at Southern Alberta Institute of Technology in 1999. He is a Senior Mechanical & Electrical Designer with more than 20 years of technical experience on projects of various size, complexity and type. Kevin is currently the President of TLJ Engineering who oversees all staff members associated with design and construction administration of all projects. Kevin’s attention to detail along with high standards ensures the client receives the best product and service available. Kevin ensures all system designs meet or exceed current codes while providing the client with a quality, cost effective, energy efficient system.
Kevin is a member of The Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA) P.L.(Eng.) designation. The Association of Science and Engineering Technology Professionals of Alberta (ASET) P.Tech.(Eng.) designation. Associate Member with The American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE). Associate Member with the Canadian Fire Alarm Association. Member of the Canada Green Building Council (CaGBC).
Outside the office Kevin enjoys spending time with his family doing outdoor activities such as biking, golfing, hiking, camping and skiing.
GREG UYESUGI C.E.T.
Principal
Greg joined TLJ Engineering Consultants Ltd. in 2004. He completed the Industrial Engineering Technologies program at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology in 1999. He is a Principal and Senior Mechanical Designer with more than 20 years of technical experience in both manufacturing and design. Greg has been involved in a vast array of residential and commercial projects with an emphasis on design for sustainable, affordable and healthy buildings. Greg oversees the mechanical team and is associated with the design and construction of all projects. His attention to detail, high standards and conviction to quality ensures the client receives the best service and product available.
Greg is a member of The Association of Science & Engineering Technology (ASET) C.E.T. designation. Associate Member with The American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE).
Away from the office Greg enjoys spending time with his family doing various outdoor activities and is an avid golfer.
JASON PURA P.Eng
Principal
Jason Pura joined TLJ Engineering Consultants Ltd. in 2011. Prior to this, he attended the University of Calgary and graduated in 2009 with his Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering. Since joining the industry, Jason has designed and managed a variety of projects ranging from small to very large with varying levels of complexity. Jason is currently a Principal of TLJ Engineering and a Senior Electrical designer who manages the Electrical team and is involved with the design and construction of all TLJ’s projects. Jason is dedicated to providing electrical designs that provide the client with cost-conscious solutions that meet all required codes while maintaining energy efficiency. His high standards and detailed-oriented approach ensure that all electrical designs produced at TLJ are of the utmost quality from project start to the completion of construction.
Jason is a registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng) with The Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA), Engineers and Geoscientists British Columbia (EGBC), and The Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan (APEGS). Associate Member with the Canadian Fire Alarm Association.
Away from the office, Jason enjoys a variety of athletic activities such as hockey, baseball, golf, hiking, and kayaking with his family.
